The fishing scene around the cottage
Niagara County is well-known
as a fishing hot-spot, and the cottage in right in the middle of the
action. In fact, some folks like fishing right out in front of the
cottage! Perhaps it has to do with the seawall
out about a hundred feet, which attracts the minnows, that brings the
big guys around. However, Mike's group (shown below) tells me that
the three-mile buoy (known as the "bar," where it starts getting
deep) is the hot-spot in early Spring, and that the good-catching
moves Eastward as the season progresses.
The cottage is just two miles from the Fort
Niagara boat ramps (near the mouth of the Lower Niagara River).

If they run out of gas, they just get more fish on the lines and dangle bait in front of them for a free tow! What, another fish story you say?
